Anders Alm, clarinet, vocals
Anders Alm started his musical career in the 1960s in Växjö,, one of the main cities of the province of Småland, as a member of the Darktown Jazzmen.
He moved to Vasteras in the 1970s and soon became a member of Olle’s Trattband - later to become Trattbandet - with whom he played from 1978-1984 and from 1997 to the present. He has also played with various bands in the Stockholm area including the Cave Stompers, is an active member of the Swedish Ramel Orchestra – dedicated to the music of Povel Ramel – and participated in Povel Ramel’s own last recording.
In the Autumn of 2007 Anders became a registered clarinet student of the Malardalen University chamber music programme and was also the recipient of the Louis Armstrong Award by the Stockholm Society of Friends of Traditional Jazz.
Jazz clarinettists who have influenced Anders´ playing include Jimmie Noone, Albert Nicholas and Barney Bigard.
