Göran Schultz, piano

Göran Schultz has a powerful and authentic traditional piano style, as well as he is a good blues singer. He even was awarded the Beryl Bryden Trophy for his singing once at the Oude Stijl Jazz Festival of Breda, Holland.

He placed his home town Gävle on the map of traditional jazz when he founded the Bay City Stompers, a band still going strong under the name of Bay City Seven.

Since 1983 he is the piano player & crooner of the Swingsters, a famous Stockholm based band. Through the years he has been sitting in as a substitute on the piano stool of many well known bands and has been touring with as much so different musical notabilities as Kustbandet, The Refreshments and Totta Näslund.

Göran is the successor of Pelle Hettman, our most appreciated pianist for thirty years, who passed away on March 12, 2009 after a long illness.
