Pär Hettman, drums, washboard

 

The son of pianist Bengt-Arne Hettman, Pär began playing drums at the early age of six and made his debut with his father’s band at the age of 14, becoming a permanent member of Trattbandet four years later in 1981, when the original drummer emigrated to the USA..

A musician of eclectic tastes, he has played jazz-rock fusion with the Cue Five, originally the Cucumber Five (an allusion to Vasteras which is known as “the Cucumber City”), dance music with the Allround Band and Latin-American with Zebra.

Apart from Trattbandet he is still a member of his father’s Jazz Quartet which is in fact the Trattbandet’s rhythm section.+ clarinet.

Besides music, Pär has a great interest in Bandy - a variant of ice hockey - and particularly following the activities of his son who plays in the VSK U-19 team.
